Function: BGT Administrator
The BGT employee is active in the administrative and geometric data processing in the BGT applications. The Register of Large-scale Topography (BGT, Basisregistratie Grootschalige Topografie) is a detailed digital map of the Netherlands.
Objects such as buildings, roads, water, railway lines and greenery are unambiguously recorded in the BGT. Municipalities, provinces and water boards, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, Rijkswaterstaat and ProRail are working on this.
Each of these parties, or source holders, is responsible for their own piece of the digital map. The source holders are organized in the ‘stichting Samenwerkingsverband Bronhouders voor de BGT (SVB-BGT)’. Kadaster continues to work on the map and manages the ‘Landelijke Voorziening’. The products of this national collaboration are available via ‘Publieke Dienstverlening op de Kaart’ (PDOK).
