The ArcGIS Desktop KernGIS course lasts 2 days and costs € 895. This training is suitable for people who already know ArcGIS Desktop Basics. With this training you will learn to work with KernGIS, an application based on ArcGIS, which is specifically aimed at collecting, managing and editing geo-information of Rijkswaterstaat objects in public space. It


During the course we will mainly follow a certain process. The KernGIS process involves steps:

  • Make an export from the RWS Service version database
  • Changes / updating of the exported personal database, this process (blue frame) can also take place at contractors of RWS. These contractors can do this with ESRI technology, but also with their own / other technology
  • Extensive data control with the DataReviewer
  • Import to a Project version in the RWS database
  • Reconcile and Post of the Project version in the Service version

The student goes through all these steps and will use the various standard analysis, consult, and in particular also mutation functions of ArcMap. The student also learns to apply the DataReviewer. With this he learns to release an extensive script that does various checks. The errors and imperfections are gone through interactively and remedied with advanced editing function.
