Course: FME Python
- Planning and Registration
The FME Python course lasts 2 days and costs € 995. As foreknowledge FME Basis and Python Basis is required.
The Python programming language can be used in FME to perform various tasks. In this course you will learn to use Python in different places in your FME workbench. There are four options for using Python in your FME workbench. You have a transformer called PythonCaller. You can use this to run a Python script in your workbench to perform tasks that are not possible with the standard FME tools or transformers. You can run a Python script at the start of your workbench and at shutdown. This is a good way to extend the functionality of your workbench or to open the output with a program other than the Inspector. Finally, you can use a Python script with your parameters, for example when setting a parameter that is calculated from other parameters. In this one-day course you will get to know all four of these options. Some prior knowledge of FME and Python is required.
Learning objectives during this course:
- The student can write a startup and / or shutdown script in FME using Python
- The student can use a PythonCaller in his workbench
- The student can script parameters in his workbench
