Course: Civil
Description
The Civil course lasts 6 days and costs € 1995.
Because geographical information is available to everyone thanks to technical developments, Geo-ICT applications are given a strategic function in the civil sector. It concerns both 2D and 3D object-oriented geo-information, so that it can also be exchanged and linked with all kinds of other information.
Many parties are involved in construction and civil engineering projects. Large organizations such as Rijkswaterstaat, Schiphol, the railways and ministries are increasingly outsourcing construction and civil engineering works, but want to keep control. In the coming years, thousands of infrastructural works will be built and maintained. There is a need for people who know how to apply CAD and GIS to prepare and manage such projects. Good preparation and planning applies everywhere, but certainly for civil engineering projects.
Material
You will receive the officia Autodesk books from Autocad and Autocad Civil3D.
Study Load
During the course of the course, you can borrow from our laptop with AutoCAD and Revit Arhiceture on it. The duration of the course is 3 weeks and you will also receive assignments home. In addition to the 6 days of lessons from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., you should expect about 6 to 10 hours of self-study per week.
Certificate
After this course you will receive the official ATC certificate of Autocad Basic 2D and Autocad Civil3D basic.
Daily schedule
On the first day you will receive a general introduction to civil engineering. This provides the context for this course. A lot of map material is needed at the start of a civil project. You will learn which map material is available and how you can obtain it. With QGIS you will consult, download and adapt the key registrations Cadastre, Large-scale Topography and Addresses and buildings for use within a civil project. This first day you will also get to work with AutoCAD.
On the second day you will get to know AuoCAD further and with an emphasis on the practical side of drawing. The interface and settings are discussed, after which exercises are started. Various objects are drawn, such as: lines, circles, arcs, rectangles and triangles. Then we look at how objects can be modified: delete, rotate, move, scale and mirror.
Xts and tables are then added to the drawings on the third day. The use of layers in drawings is important to be able to separate things. Furthermore, extensive attention is paid to object snaps and grips, blocks and shading of surface. The relationship between model and paper space is also discussed. In the afternoon you will carry out a final civil engineering assignment that will test your skills. If you pass this test, you are eligible for the official AutoDesk Certificate AutoCAD 2D Basic.
On the fourth day, all parts of AutoCAD Civil 3D are treated, based on 3D terrain models. With this the participant learns to recognize solutions for specific civil issues and to apply them in principle. Knowledge of AutoCAD 2D will come in handy for this course. On this first day you will complete a number of appealing practical assignments.
On the fifth day, the working environment of the application (toolspace, workspace) is started. Styles, template drawings and reports are examined. Surveying applications are discussed and, for example, points and terrain models are used. Different profiles are also discussed, such as transverse and length profiles.
On the sixth day, the following components will be discussed: Volume calculations (grading), Axis Design (alignments), Type cross sections (sub assemblies), 3D Design model (corridors), Pipelines and transport pipelines. In the afternoon you will make an extensive practical example. This will test your eligibility for the AutoDesk Certificate AutoCAD Civil 3D Basic
