Basic Python knowledge is required as foreknowledge. Arduino is an open source computer platform designed to make microcontrollers simple. If you are interested in designing smarts and creative objects, Arduino is for you.

With the Arduino it is possible to create objects that respond to their environment by means of input signals. The Arduino can respond to this with output signals. The input can be generated by means of switches, light sensors, motion meters, distance meters, temperature sensors, or based on commands from the internet. This can be further expanded with other sensors. During the course you will learn the basics of programming with Python. The Arduino itself also has its own language (Arduino) which is also discussed in the course. After these two parts will be programmed on the Arduino using Python.

Learning objectives of this course:

  • You will learn how to program the Arduino to respond to input signals
  • The student can also generate output signals with the Arduino
  • You also know the basic syntax of python to communicate with the Arduino
