The QGIS Basic course lasts 3 days and costs € 1095. QGIS is a powerful Desktop GIS solution with no licensing costs. This basic course lasts 3 days and you will get to know the package across the board.


Day 1: Introduction

This day you will receive a complete overview of the package. The entire user interface is run through so that you quickly know your way around it. The following topics will be discussed in this first day: general use of QGIS, adding layers, presentation and plot settings, visualizing geo data, text labels, thematic presentations, exchange with other systems such as Office, use of National Geo Register and other Catalog Services, Unlocking WMS services and using public WMS and Tiling services, searching and retrieving alphanumeric data, PDOK, Openstreet Maps.

Day 2: Analysis and Queries

Various queries and analyzes can be released on a well-filled GIS database. That is the power of GIS. Do analyzes and visualize the results. In this day, you will gain knowledge of and insight into the structuring of spatial information in raster models and vector models. On the basis of various issues and practical applications, it is made clear how GIS analyzes can contribute to the provision or acquisition of information about spatial issues. The student practices with overlay analyzes and buffer analyzes, and proximity analyzes. Finally, you will learn to make a nice layout and to print maps.

Day 3: Various draw end editing functions

During this day you will learn to mutate existing geometry and draw in new geometry. You create map layers and you draw objects yourself. This way you learn to read CAD files and to copy lines in a GIS layer with which you then create GIS objects. You will then learn to link administrative data to these GIS objects. You will also learn to do (bulk) mutations on GIS objects. This is how you build a GIS file from other sources. Storing GIS data in a database such as PostGreSQL is also discussed.
