Course: R Spatial
- Planning and Registration
This R Spatial course lasts 2 days and costs € 995. As foreknowledge, the base of R is required. The R software package, designed by Ross Ihaka and Robert Gentleman, has been specially developed for statistics and data analysis. It is a ready-to-use version of the programming language S. The big advantage of R is the object-oriented character, which makes it quite easy to expand with packages. R is one of the most widely used scientific statistics packages and is also increasingly used for geo-spatial analysis. QGIS is an open source GIS system that is used in all sectors.
Depending on the students' prior knowledge, we will go through the most important programming concepts that we need to perform spatial analyzes in R. Then we will examine to what extent R can independently perform spatial analyzes. Here we will see that R in itself already has a lot of possibilities in the field of spatial presentation and analysis. After that, we'll go into the extensions that R offers on QGIS.
Learning objectives of this course R Spatial:
The aim of the course is to be able to use the QGIS package in R to perform statistical and geographical analyzes. During the course, the student learns to do geographic data analysis exercises on (geo) data from different sources.
