Course SmallWorld and Magik
- Planning and Registration
The course programming with SmallWorld and Magik takes 4 days and costs € 1595. Knowledge of Foundation is required. In addition, experience with programming languages such as JAVA or C ++ is also important. Afterwards, students receive a certificate from GE Energy. The CST is written in the object-oriented programming language Magik. In this course you will get an overview of the possibilities of this programming language. You will also use the CST objects. You will work with an already developed program. You then make various adjustments. This is how you adjust this application and practice programming.
First, we'll look at Magik's syntax and how we can create Magik objects. Secondly, we are going to see how the code is compiled and how we as debuggers can debug. There we will dive even deeper into the language and look at Object Orientation. We will discuss the usefulness of classes and what methods have to do with it. The subject of inheritance will also be offered. Then we will look further at the architecture of SmallWorld. How we can use the functionality that SmallWorld makes available using resources and interfaces. Another important topic is the connection to a database. We will therefore look at this in detail.
Learning objectives of this course
- The student knows the different possibilities that SmallWorld and Magik offer
- You can independently write code in Magik to use in SmalWorld
